One of my favorite restaurants. My favorite thing to order is the shrimp quesadillas. I also love the mango Margaritas. The staff are always welcoming and nice! It's summer so I always enjoy sitting outside.

Very attentive wait staff, good food and environment. Strong drinks. 4/5 stars given as food is on the pricey side for what it is.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants for a few reasons. One, they have the best salsa! I've had a few good things on the menu the last few times I've been here, but I've always been impressed with their fajita options! Love their chicken and steak fajitas especially. They have nice fluffy rice and good beans. The space is nice, lots of roomy booths. The service is normally fair to very good, no major problems there. They have very quick service, probably good for a takeout option.

We went to Puerto Vallarta for a family get-together after the holidays. 7 adults and 2 children. We didn't have reservations but they were able to put us in the back room at a large table. It was perfect. The server was very attentive and helpful. Some in our party had margaritas, both frozen and on the rocks. They said the margaritas were very good. There were baskets of tortilla chips, and salsa on the table. They are made daily at the restaurant. The tortilla chips and the salsa were very good. I'm celiac so I am able to eat anything with a corn tortilla, not a flour tortilla. The waiter was very knowledgeable of my allergy, which was nice. I had the enchiladas rancheros. It's three enchiladas, one each of chicken cheese, cheese and beef. It came with white rice and black beans but I was given the chance to change it to Spanish rice or refried beans if I wanted. The enchiladas were very good and very authentic. I liked the different sauces on each. My daughter had the chicken quesadilla. That's her favorite when she comes here. She enjoyed it very very much. My son had the Carne Asada dinner. He had the choice of flour tortillas or corn tortillas. He chose the corn tortillas. He said it was very very good. My mother-in-law was a Spanish teacher and went to Mexico every year for vacation. Puerto Vallarta is her favorite Mexican restaurant. Both the food and the atmosphere is very authentic. We love Puerto Vallarta and are happy to drive the 45 minutes for lunch or dinner for the food and the atmosphere.

Puerto Vallarta never disappoints. When you walk in to the restaurant you are greeted right away. Then brought to your table. The place has decent decor. Not your typical colorful Mexican restaurant. But, there is color and the tiles are pretty cool. I just noticed that on some of the tiles on the wall actually has the restaurant name on it. I don't know how I didn't see that before. I guess I never too the time to pay that much attention. My attention was more focused on the servers bringing other customers food out and saying ohh that looks good. Back to the food. I strayed from my normal go to dishes and tried the chef Armando fajitas. It was a huge plate and so delicious. What impressed me the most was the look of the shrimp. It was vibrant in color and well cooked. Not over cooked or dry. My taste buds have been off but from what I tasted it was on point with the seasonings. Tasted very delicious. The Mexican rice was cooked well too. Not sticky or dry. The refried beans were seasoned too. But, to me it tasted a bit spicy. But, my husband tried it and said it wasn't spicy. I'll take his word for it since he has a palate for food. My husband ordered the puerto Vallarta platter. It looked very delicious and the hubby said it tasted amazing. So next time that will be what I plan to order. If you haven't tried these two I suggest that you try them. As for left overs, I had plenty of left overs. I ate part of it for dinner and I still have some left over for lunch. The portion was huge. My hubbys plate was destroyed. That is how good it was. I would suggest if you haven't tried this place you need to try it.

Out of all the Mexican restaurants in CT, this is by far our favorite. The service is always so friendly and quick, and the restaurant is clean with classic decor. It gets really busy on weekend evenings, so I recommend going on a weekday to easily get parking and to be seated quicker. Food is so good and portions are generous. Love all the vegetarian and seafood options. The shrimp fajita for two can feed 4-6 people, plus it comes with rice, beans, and guacamole. The fish tacos are great and the Laredo quesadilla (not pictured) is my personal favorite. The complimentary chips and salsa are always so fresh. Definitely ask for the spicy salsa, too. Highly recommend this restaurant (specifically the Newington location) for high quality Mexican food.

A nice authentic Mexican restaurant on the Berlin Turnpike. Easy to get to and parking was plentiful. We sat at the bar for drinks and a quick bite. Food did not disappoint. Complimentary chips and salsa were a nice touch. I had vodka soda but friend had margarita and said it was delish. On the way out we received Complimentary shots. Who doesn't love that! Can't wait to go back to try tacos

First time here recently with a group of friends! THE FOOD -I arrived late and had told everyone to order ahead, boy I wish I had heard their orders because I was jealous when their food came! -everyone ordered a different combination platter, they were HUGE! Definitely worth the price tag. What looked the best to me was the carnitas and the enchiladas -I ordered the pollo asada burrito and it was very tasty and large. I ordered without onions and pico and they got my request correct. -I got a side of queso and it was okay. Pretty bland in my opinion. THE DRINKS -typical Mexican restaurant margs made with sour mix. Honestly NOT one of the better ones I've had. Way too heavy on the sour mix, not much of a kick. They are large, but not worth it to me -our table had a mix of on the rocks and frozen. Everyone seemed to enjoy the option they chose. -I saw other tables that looked to have specialty drinks. You can definitely tell they do not skimp on size here, everything was large THE SERVICE -waiter was good. Made sure to check in on us. Polite and attentive -the other workers were also nice. Everyone who we walked past thanked us for coming on our way out. THE ATMOSPHERE -we sat outside and it was a nice large seating area -I liked that we were not super close and jammed in next to other guests. They do a good job with table spacing -the inside also looked neat but I didn't really see much as I walked into the front then directly to the patio I will definitely want to go again and try one of the combo platters! Lots of locations to choose from is nice.
